What is the TAKE IT DOWN Act?
The TAKE IT DOWN Act (Pub.L. 119–12, signed May 19, 2025) is a U.S. federal law that makes it illegal to publish non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) online — including AI-generated deepfakes. It requires platforms to remove flagged content within 48 hours of a valid notice.
